Brand:  Cartier launched in France in 1847 and stayed a family run business until 1964.  The brand was founded by Louis-Francois Cartier, but much of the brands success was driven by the 3rd generation of brothers who were running the business in the early 1900s.  They were responsible for some of the most celebrated designs, such as the mystery clocks, where its mechanism is hidden.  The brand broke the barriers in jewelry design as well through the use of colored gems and platinum.  Today, Cartier is owned by the Richemont Group and is a global power house sought by the wealthy from all corners of the wold.
